Black Friday is the perfect time to look for great deals on anything and everything you need. This time, we’re focusing on the tools that can help us protect our homes in one way or another, be it cameras, smart gadgets that enhance security, and so on.
You can save quite a bit of money with these deals, so let’s see what we found.
Reolink solar powered security camera
Reolink is having a huge sale this Black Friday. This particular model is down a whopping 42% and it’s the lowest price we’ve seen for this camera. This is a camera that records 2K videos, even at night. It works with both 2.4 and 5 Ghz Wi-Fi and you absolutely don’t need any cables to set this up.
It comes with its own solar panel that powers the camera. It then sends the feed to the cloud, where the recordings are kept for up to seven days. You can also add an SD card of up to 128 GB if you want to record on the device as well.
The camera is equipped with smart detection software, so it can send you alerts with snapshots when it detects people or cars. You can further customize your home security by turning on a siren, floodlights, and so on. This model used to cost $179.99, but is now just $104.99.
Ring Spotlight Camera Plus
If you want a cool home security solution, there’s also the Ring cam with its own spotlight. Just install it in your home, plug it into a normal outlet and you’re good to go. When it detects something, the camera activates the floodlight and illuminates the area. Night video is also in color, which is pretty cool.
This camera works with Alexa, so you can view the footage directly on your Echo Show device or on your phone. The camera enables two-way conversations so you can chat with your visitors or issue alerts. If you take out a Ring Protect subscription (between $39.99 and $200/year), your recordings are stored in the cloud for up to 180 days, so you can review them on specific days.
The Ring Spotlight Cam Plus is now $139.99, down from $199.99, and it’s the best price we’ve ever seen for this model, which makes sense considering it only launched this year.
Blink Video Doorbell
One of the easiest things you can do to improve your home security is to get a smart doorbell. Not only does this help announce visitors when they’re there, but you can also see who’s at your door before you open it. You just check the app and view the video and you can even have two-way conversations with whoever is outside your home.
The app also sends alerts to your phone when visitors arrive at your door, whether that’s a delivery person, your kids come back from school, and so on. You can connect this to a wire or just put some batteries in it; your choise. This is the lowest price we’ve seen for the Blink Video Doorbell, so you should probably set one up sooner rather than later.
Google Nest Cam with Floodlight
If you want an alternative to the floodlight camera above, the Google Nest Cam solution is pretty good too. You can use the Google Home app to view video history of events from the last three hours, but you’ll need a subscription to Newt Aware for up to 60 days of video history. Via the same app, you can view the live feed and control the camera and floodlight anytime, anywhere.
When the camera detects motion, it sends you alerts to your phone, but you can customize what it sends and what it doesn’t. The feed is in an impressive 1080p HDR, so you can see all the important details, such as faces or license plate numbers. The camera also allows users to chat with their visitors, both wanted and unwanted.
Reolink 4K security camera system
If you want to set up a security system with all the bells and whistles, then you need something more than what we’ve included so far. For example, Reolink has a full security system available for Black Friday, with four 4K cameras and an 8-channel NVR with a 2TB HDD onboard for 24/7 recording. This one requires some effort to set up, some cables and all, but it’s worth the sense of security you get once it’s installed.
The cameras this package comes with are enough to cover all corners of your home, but if you want more cameras you can add them up as the NVR can support up to eight. The system costs $419.99 at Amazon, down from $599.99, so that’s a great discount!
TP Link Tapo 2K
If you want a security camera that can also serve as a baby monitor, the TP-Link Tapo 2K Pan Tilt Security Camera is the right choice. You can, of course, put these anywhere in the house, even if it’s just to keep an eye on your pets while you’re out and tell them to stop gnawing your shoes via the two-way audio it supports.
The images can be stored on a card (up to 256 GB) or in the cloud and you can integrate the camera with Alexa or Google Home. The dedicated app can be sued to pan and tilt the camera, enable or disable motion alarms, and so on. All video is recorded in 2K resolution, so you get a lot more detail than with many other cameras. Plus, at $29.99 (was $34.99), it’s a great deal to grab this Black Friday.
Most of these deals close once Cyber Monday is over too, so try to make your purchases before then. MUO also has no control over prices and they are still subject to change. While we try to keep the information up to date, differences may occur.
