Who’s playing

Chattanooga @ Illinois

Current records: Chattanooga 3-0; Illinois 2-1

What to know

The Illinois Fighting Illini will once again host and welcome the Chattanooga Mocs to Memorial Stadium, where kick-off is scheduled for Thursday, 8:30 p.m. ET. Both teams meander into the matchup, bolstered by comfortable wins in their previous games.

It all went down in Illinois against the Virginia Cavaliers two weeks ago when they took off with a 24-3 win. The team collected 21 points in the first half and kissed it for the win. Illinois’ RB Chase Brown was one of the most active players on the team, hitting 146 yards on the ground on 20 carries.

The Fighting Illini defenses were also on hand, as it made it past Virginia’s offensive line to sack the QB five times for a total loss of 39 yards. It was a group effort with zero guys contributing.

Meanwhile, Chattanooga made easy work of the North Alabama Lions last week, taking a 41-14 win.

Illinois is the favorite in this one, with an expected win margin of 18 points. If their 2-0 record against the spread has anything to offer, the prospects look good for the bets placed on it.

Their wins push Illinois to 2-1 and the Mocs to 3-0. Both the Fighting Illini and Chattanooga have had easy wins in recent history. We’ll see whose ego takes a hit when they face each other.
