Steelers-Browns weather: Teams expected to face significant winds during Week 3 tilt in Cleveland

The browns and Steelers will get an extra opponent when they kick off the third week of the regular season on Thursday evening. Significant wind is expected throughout the game, which will be played at Cleveland’s FirstEnergy Stadium.

Winds are expected to move at about 20 miles per hour throughout the game. Temperatures will be a very cool 59 degrees at kick-off and are not expected to drop more than 1-2 degrees for the rest of the evening. While no rain is expected, Cleveland was hit by significant rainfall earlier in the day.

The weather can be an advantage for the Browns, who come into play with the NFL‘s top-ranked rush attack and fourth-ranked run defense. Nick Chubb ran for 228 yards and three touchdowns in Cleveland’s first two games, with Kareem Hunt contributions of 104 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.

However, Cleveland will fall short on defense such as: Jadeveon Clowney is out with an injury. The Steelers, who ran just 166 yards in the first two games of the season, hope to match the success they had on the ground against the Browns in 2021. Steeler’s running back Najee Harris ran for 279 yards and two touchdowns in Pittsburgh’s two wins over Cleveland last season.

Cleveland is currently a 4.5-point favorite coming into Thursday’s game, with an over/under at 38 points, according to Caesars Sportsbook. Both teams are tied 1-1 and 0-2 against the spread over two games.
