I’m returning to Toronto to direct Strange New Worlds. I’m about to head back into the studio to revoice some stuff for a video game called Star Trek: Resurgence, and I have a couple more non-Star Trek projects that can now plug in and start over. It’s been a very interesting time off, so I’m very grateful to be able to participate in the convention circuit.
What we know about Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3
Strange New Worlds season 2 ended on an epic cliffhanger.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 was just days away from starting production in May when the Writer’s Guild of America went on strike, followed by SAG-AFRA in July. But once the dual strikes were resolved, Strange new worlds is moving quickly to begin filming season 3 with a December start date and production will reportedly continue through July 2024. Strange new worlds Season 3 scripts resumed when the writers’ strike ended in September, and production is presumably eager to begin as directors like Jonathan Frakes and Strange new worlds‘Production manager Chris Fisher is already in Toronto or will be heading there soon.
Jonathan Frakes also directed the first half of the two-part series finale of Star Trek: Discovery.
On top of Strange new worlds Season 3’s agenda is to resolve the epic cliffhanger at the end of Strange new worlds season 2. Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) was left in a terrible no-win scenario when Starfleet ordered him to stand down after the Gorn kidnapped members of his crew from the USS Enterprise. Meanwhile, Captain Marie Batel (Melanie Scrofano) has been infected by the Gorn and her life is in danger. But once the Gorn story was over, Strange new worlds Season 3 will continue to push the boundaries of what Star Trek it may be like season 2 did, and there’s no word yet on what’s being prepared for the new season, or what Star Trek: Strange New Worlds The season 3 episode will be directed by Jonathan Frakes.
